blockbench tips please

Post by asdfpoo » 1 year ago

idk what this monstrosity I have made is.

it would be great if some of you modelers could give me a helping hand in blockbench. Just give me some helpful tips and how I can better know how the models work, such as importing gun models and other stuff I don't even know of. maybe even some tutorials could help. Thanks!

If you’re interested in creating models the shapes are quite simple. Just always make sure your scaling is correct for each part and you should have no problems. I’d also recommend rounding up certain shapes. In the context of modeling guns, this would mean things like the barrel, scopes, etc.

As for applying UV textures, this requires a bit of an artists eye. One tip for you specifically is that I think you’re aiming for a gold-type of texture but you’ve picked a bright yellow. Be sure to experiment with colors. Also metallic textures can be hard to express without the use of multiple colors.

Rijam doesn't use Blockbench.

All of the admins use BDCraft Cubik Studio for modelling and UV texturing.

Rest in peace. Doesn't cubik cpst money though? Also, which one is easier to handle in your opinion?

I did some more blockbench modeling, and I have a few tips to make models fast: give each cube a name/color based on what part of the model it is. For example if you were creating a shotgun model, you would have a set of shapes of the same color for the barrel, another set of shapes for the trigger, etc. Anither useful tip is you can select multiple parts at once with shift+click. Combined with the easy categorization mentioned above, you can quickly modify large components of your model. Another useful tip is you can right click on a block and click “duplicate” to obtain a block with equal dimensions and positions

I use blockbench bc I'm a brokeboy.
Also the AWM model you made wont work, its textures and the textureless model are in 2 pieces, the json model with the textures outside of item\meshes\rifle and one inside of item\meshes\rifle has the actual model. Confusing, I know, but thats how the RP works.
Also I always have a real 3d model of the gun im making open while I make it in blockbench. Works every time on guns not named the Ithaca 37
