I don't know how to tell you this, but the middle east stretches over a few countries, and the landscape and the styling of those countries changes between them. However, congrats on living in the middle east.

1st, Because it is based in the Middle East.
I don't see how you got this: 'people make it sound like it's a battlefield or something it's not' out of this: "However, congrats on living in the middle east."
Also are we not going to mention the multiple wars that are going on the Middle East? The Middle East has actually been a battlefield for years upon years. If I am reading correctly, the Iraqi-Kurdish conflict lasted almost 90 years. Again, congrats on living in the Middle East.
