[UPDATED 1/2/2018] Beginners Guide

Post by ryanmoneyman » 1 year ago

For all of you new members, I will simply guide you through the basics to GunColony by using commands to gun handling.
How to join. Right click on the iron sword to open up the join menu. There are games from Mob Arena to PVP games. In PVP, you can vote for a map with the game mode desired, for example: Dust 2, TDM/Majir, Defusal/etc. If you want to leave a game, do /leave. Once you leave you cannot rejoin that game again until it is over.

How to change your load-out (There are 2 ways to do this) 1st way: Right click the chest in your inventory, click the map, click on the gun you want to choose, and from there you to select which slot to add it in. Be aware that there are primary's and secondary's, so choose weapons that go well together! Guns will not change during a match if you're in-game, but will change when you re-spawn after death if you change your gun in the store. To view what guns you can get with your level, right click the book in your hotbar.

2nd way (easier): Right click the chest in your inventory, click the gold ingot, now you will see a lot of guns. This menu can also be seen in the store in pvp. From there you can select any gun. Then you will see that yet another menu pops up! Now select a gun that best fits you, and you can use it in the shop in-game. Every gun, not a slot, has a different value.

How to pick up guns If you ever want to use another gun in-game, follow these steps. Go up to the desired gun you want to use, press E (or whatever key you use to open your inventory,) click on the gun you want to drop, and it should pop up in your primary/secondary slot. Only primary guns are dropped when a player dies, so its very rare to see a secondary dropped.

How to dodge recoil FULLY-AUTO RIFLES, AUTO-SNIPERS and PISTOLS: This server uses a recoil system which means shots are inaccurate, so it is useless to hold left click and hold. However there are many ways to bypass this. One way is to burst fire, this means shots fire 1 at a time. You do this when the green bar at the bottom of your cross-hair reaches to the very bottom of it. The other way to do bypass recoil is to aim below the target so the bullets hit it, (This may not work because of the hit-register problem.) Shooting to the head deals the most damage. All guns have different recoil patterns so there's more calculation involved. All guns have limited ammo, so use it wisely! This is were picking up guns come in handy!

SHOTGUNS: Shotguns are not affected by recoil much so you can hold right click, just beware of ammo.

SNIPERS: There is no green bar to indicate the recoil. With that you need to do a lot of calculation depending on which sniper it is.

Crates: getting them and opening them. You can obtain crates at the end of a match. They won't be very helpful but in rare cases good. However there is a way better way to obtain crates, by voting. You can only vote once every 24 hours, but the results are awesome. Here are all of the crates from least helpful to most helpful: wood, iron, gold, diamond, giant, exotic, and mythical. To open a crate right click on the iron sword to open your inventory, click on the desired crate, then keep clicking until there's no more items. You can also obtain tokens by opening crates. The better the crate, the more tokens and weapon exp are given.

How to upgrade guns. Once you obtain a certain amount of weapon experience for a gun, you can level it up. This makes it better to use in-game. To level up a weapon right click on the desired weapon, click the emerald block, and your gun has been upgraded. If you can't upgrade a gun a redstone block will appear instead of an emerald block. You need tokens to level up your weapons, more is needed for higher rarities and levels.

How to add extensions. Use the iron sword to open your inventory. When you have done that right click the gun to open its stats and you will see that there are many types of modifications. Click a barrier to open up a small list of modifications, click on a modification and wala. These upgrades are helpful, however they come with a dark side. You can use 1 modification per part you are modifying. You can modify the Ammo, Sights, Trigger, Internally modify the gun, Barrel put accessories on them, Stock, Magazine, and Special. You can unlock them depending on the type of gun and the guns rarity. All of the upgrades are listed below, and of course I will explain what they do.

Heavy Spring: A heavy spring lowers the rate of fire of the weapon in return for much less recoil and more accuracy when spraying or bursting. This modification is under "Internal."

Lightened Spring: Lightens the spring of the weapon to increase its rate of fire, with with higher recoil per shot. This modification is under "Internal."

Lightened Bolt: Lightens the entire bolt assembly to increase rate of fire greatly, but gas sealing is weakened, reducing range and first shot accuracy. This modification is under "Internal."

AP Ammo: Increases the armor penetration and range of the weapon, but increases recoil and decreases moving accuracy. This modification is under "Ammo."

Focused Laser: (451-Laser only) Makes your laser beam 80% more powerful, but it can only hit one target at a time. This modification is under "Ammo."

Refined Barrel: Improves the construction of the barrel to increase damage over range, but slightly increases recoil. This modification is under "Barrel."

Field Trigger: Slight mechanism tweaks to the trigger to increase rate of fire at the cost of higher recoil. This modification is under "Trigger."

Heavy Ball Ammo: Heavier bullet, less powder, boosts weapon damage but reduces bullet velocity and increases recoil and spread when spraying. This modification is under "Ammo."

Improved Sights: Makes the weapon sights more suitable for precise aiming, increasing first shot accuracy but increases spread when spraying. This modification is under "Sights."

Heavy Bolt: Heavy duty bolt assembly provides high gas sealing, increasing velocity and thus damage and lower dropoff over range, at the cost of lower rate of fire and higher recoil ad spread. This modification is under "Internal."

Compensator Sights: Stabilized and widened sight picture allows for far more precision when standing and spraying and outputs a higher effective range. However drastically increases recoil and movement inaccuracy. This modification is under "Sights."

Heavy Barrel: Heavy cold-forged barrel reduces recoil and spraying spread, but increases movement movement penalty and reduces movement speed. This modification is under "Barrel."

Sniper Ammo: Precise ammo designed for sniping. Increases first shot accuracy bullet velocity and spraying accuracy, but significantly reduces damage. This modification is under "Ammo."

Greased Trigger: Applies grease on the trigger to lower its friction, resulting in higher first shot and moving accuracy, but makes the weapon harder to control in automatic fire. This modification is under "Trigger."

Muzzle Boost: Cycles gas back into the firing mechanism to increase rate of fire but decreases bullet velocity. This modification is under "Barrel."

Marksman Sights: Extremely precise sight that increases first shot accuracy but increases moving penalty. This modification is under "Sights."

Sawed Off Barrel: Shortened barrel increases mobility and reduces movement penalty but increases damage dropoff over range and first shot bullet spread. This modification is under "Barrel."

Hp Ammo: Hollow-point ammo increases damage but reduces armor penetration, rate of fire, first shot accuracy and range. This modification is under "Ammo."

Improved Reticle: Makes the weapon scope more suitable for precise aiming, increasing first shot accuracy but increases spread when spraying. This modification is under "Sights."

Greased Bolt: Applying lubricants on the bolt increases rate of fire but decreases range. This modification is under "Internal."

Precision Scope: Extremely precise scope that increases first shot accuracy but increases moving penalty. This modification is under "Sights."

Laser Sight: Small accessory that increases weapon control, improving moving accuracy and spread recovery but requires time to turn on. This modification is under "Underbarrel."

Foregrip: Allows for a tighter but less stable gripping of the weapon, reducing recoil but increasing spread when firing rapidly. This modification is under "Underbarrel."

Ghost Ring: Extra precise ring sights increases first shot and spraying accuracy, but increases moving penalty. This modification is under "Sights."

Dart Ammo: Fire darts instead of buckshot's. Reduces damage but increases armor penetration, block and entity penetration, and bullet velocity. This modification is under "Ammo."

Full Choke: Extends the barrel of the weapon to reduce the pellet spread but increases movement penalty. This modification is under "Barrel."

Modified choke: Extends the barrel of the weapon to reduce the pellet spread but increases movement penalty. This modification is under "Barrel."
